This initiative works to coordinate fatherhood activities throughout the states and sponsors a variety of forums to bring together local, public and private organizations and individuals to support fathers' involvement in their families and communities.

The official state agency legislatively charted to advocate for women by assisting the coordination of public (local, state, federal), private, corporate, foundation, non-profit, volunteer, educational, and other organizations providing funding, services, and programs to address the needs of women.

The Louisiana Department of Social Services assists individuals and families in meeting their basic human needs of economic self-support and of self-sufficiency, and in the protection of their physical and emotional well-being.

Child care provided by parishes and qualifications for financial assistance is also a supplement of the department.
