How to Manage Your Workplace Stress

Today's economic upheavals, downsizing, layoffs, mergers, and bankruptcies have cost. Millions more have been shifted to unfamiliar tasks within their companies and wonder how much longer they will be employed. New bosses, computer surveillance of production, fewer health and retirement benefits, and the feeling of having to work longer and harder to maintain current economic status, add to the pressures that workers face. This increased tension and uncertainty affects employees at every level.

The American Psychological Association (APA) provides information to employees about how to identify some of the causes of work stress and ways to manage some of the stress found in the workplace today. For tips on how to manage your workplace stress, log on to the APA's consumer Web site: http://www.helping.apa.org/work/stress5.html
