This group works in Alabama, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virgin Islands, and Virginia.

The West Virginia Hate Crimes Task Force is a working group organized under the auspices of the West Virginia Human Rights Commission. The Task Force plans and carries out initiatives addressed at bias-motivated crime and similar manifestations of intolerance in the state. The Task Force includes representatives from the Human Rights Commission, the Attorney General's Civil Rights Division, the State Police, municipal human relations commissions, municipal police agencies, local universities, state-level civil rights organizations and other groups with similar concerns.
