The attorney general's office has an anti-gang unit which helps raise awareness of gang violence in Ohio and trains law enforcement agents to better respond to gang violence situations. They hope to expand this program to include students and parents in their training sessions. In addition, the office helps set up gang task forces throughout the state of Ohio which are specific to the community's needs. The office also has a pilot program called Project OASIS (Ohio's Acceleration of School-Based Intervention Solutions) which helps at-risk kids in grades 4-7 with schoolwork and personal issues.

Diversion is offered to first and second time misdemeanor offenders. The idea of the diversion program is to keep it community based; fair and consistent, started as soon as possible, at no cost, and that the punishment should fit the crime. It is coupled with the CREATE (Conflict Resolution Education, Awareness Training, and Enrighment) program. The Grove City Police Department has involved citizens affected by the Diversion Program by holding public seminars and public forums on juvenile crime topics.

Programs Include: 1. Network and collaboration with all agencies dealing with juveniles, youth violence, and gangs. 2. The 4S Program (Students Seeking Safe Solutions) in every school. The 4S Program is a conflict resolution/student mediation program. This is the concept that teaches youth to deal with conflict situations and learn that violence is not the answer to solving problems. 3. Juvenile diversions. A juvenile diversion is the process of discussing the ramifications of gang activity with the high-risk youth and family unit. The main goal is to increase communication between the parent and the youth and to divert the youth from formal involvement in the juvenile justice system. 4. Creation of the A.C.H.I.E.V.E. Program (Area Citizens Helping In Eliminating Violence through Education). This is the networking and education of community groups and organizations. 5. Provide training, and increase networking and collaboration between organizations that work with juveniles. Including but not limited to schools and police.
