"Dr. Soloman's Dilemma" aired nationally on PBS's Frontline April 4, 2000 as the first part of Hedrick Smith Productions' series on healthcare. The documentary examines how physicians are battling over the soul of medicine. Some have regained control of managing their patients' care from HMOs and are now saddled with the very problem against which they rebelled: cutting costs by controlling care. Daily, doctors find themselves faced with the responsibility of balancing quality care against their own bottom line.
