The Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative consists of 25 member hospitals that aggressively seek to help regional areas network to better serve the health needs of rural communities. RWHC promotes a coordinated system of rural health care which provides both quality and efficient care for rural residents in a manner consistent with their community values. Incorporated in 1979 as the Rural Wisconsin Hospital Cooperative, RWHC has received national recognition as one of the country's earliest and most successful models for networking among rural hospitals. The Bureau of Health Information is a state government agency that collects, analyzes, and disseminates information about: hospitals, hospital discharges, planned outpatient surgeries, physicians, nurses, and other health care providers in Wisconsin. The web site contains a reference desk and many options for updated health care news and information. Drop-ins are welcome to pick up information and the Bureau supports an online and interactive query system for examining charges and length of stay for hospitalization and ambulatory procedures.
