The Nebraska Urban Indian Medical Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center serving Native Americans, other persons of color, and those who are medically underserved. Services are provided in a manner which values differences in cultures and customs.

Their parent organization is the Nebraska Urban Indian Health Coalition, a not-for-profit corporation that provides culturally-competent health care services to urban Indians in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska, and in Sioux City, Iowa. In collaboration with Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, we are able to offer preventative and primary health care services provided by physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and health educators for people of all ages. Children's Hospital is a pediatric hospital recognized center for the care of children and critically ill newborns. Specialty fields include pediatric cardiology, open-heart surgery and cardiac catheterization. Children's Hospital provides services such as child-care, behavioral health services, the Poison Center, and classes for parents and for baby-sitters.

A 434-bed teaching hospital highlighting tertiary and primary care, University Hospital also is a regional referral and treatment center for AIDS and hemophilia. The hospital, affiliated with the University of Nebraska Medical Center, is one of the busiest liver and bone marrow transplant centers in the United States.
