The Health Claims Arbitration Office, (HCAO) provides a system of mandatory filings for all medical malpractice claims in excess of the current jurisdictional amount. The Health Claims Arbitration Office was created by the Health Claims Malpractice Act, enacted by the Legislature in 1976. Since this date, HCAO has handled in excess of 9,672 medical malpractice claims for the State of Maryland.

The Mission of Health Care for the Homeless is to provide and coordinate health care and related services to enable homeless people in the State of Maryland to achieve or maintain a level of health that allows them the greatest self-sufficiency possible, and to remove health related obstacles which prevent them from resolving their homelessness. Through leadership, education, and cooperative action with others, Health Care for the Homeless seeks to increase public awareness of the relationship between homelessness and health and to encourage the development of programs and policies to improve the health of homeless citizens.
